To mark the 100th anniversary of the first photomontages by photographic artist Heinz Hajek-Halke, the group exhibition METAMORPHOSIS takes as its starting point the artist's work between 1925 and 1935.
Hajek-Halke (1898 – 1983) is one of the most important experimental German photographic artists of the 20th century. Looking for new visual compositions from the beginning of his career in 1925, he worked with different techniques (a.o. multiple exposures and collages) enabling him to create dynamic images inspired by cinematographic pictures. The regular publication of his innovative photographs in his time's illustrated magazines and newspapers brought him great notoriety.
An exhibition organised in the framework of EMOP Berlin - the European Month of Photography, and curated by Mathilde Leroy.
Location: CHAUSSEE 36 Photography, Chausseestr. 36, 10115 Berlin
